    Entry requirements This foundation-level course is aimed at a broad range of participants who have a relevant professional background such as nursing, social work, psychiatry or teaching, and who are working with families or couples within the context of their profession.

  • Course description
    You will follow a critical approach to the theory and practice of inequalities and differences of race, class and gender which is encouraged to stimulate an anti-discriminatory stance with regard to work with clients.

    Teaching
    Lectures, small practice-based experiential groups, group workshops and plenaries.

    Assessment
    You will be expected to complete two written assignments, make a presentation to a small group and present a portfolio of learning. You will also complete a clinical log describing your work with families. The final assessment is based on the second written assignment.
