Objectives
The aims of the course are to offers knowledge and expertise to develop students’ evaluative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and to increase their practical and theoretical knowledge of sports science and injury, so that they can apply these skills in the further advancement of their profession.

Students admitted to the course should be in possession of:
* Either a first degree or an UK diploma in Physiotherapy.
* Normally, two years of post registration clinical experience.
* Normally, two years fieldwork/clinical education.

Course description
Course Description:
The course is structured on a modular format, which involves three specific modules in Sports Physiotherapy and a generic module in Research Methods in Health and Social Care. The modules are presented in block format with students required to attend the university for two to three-day blocks during the year. Part-time students do the Research Methods module and first sports physiotherapy modules in their first year and the remaining two sports physiotherapy modules in their second year; full-time students would do all four modules in the one year.
Students who proceed to successful completion of a research project and subsequent dissertation will be eligible for the award of a Master of Science degree.
