Course description
The programme offers a wide range of study possibilities in that each student’s programme is individually negotiated. This approach enables the student’s preferences, experiences and plans to be incorporated into a coherent programme of postgraduate study. Students develop specific skills and interests in depth, or develop a broad-based understanding of technology and its applications.
This MSc is one of a range of postgraduate qualifications available under the Postgraduate Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme. The scheme allows a flexible method of accumulating credits.
For full-time students there is a taught programme for two semesters, followed by a project that normally lasts until the 12 month period is completed.
For part-time students, the taught programme normally extends over two years, followed by a project. The programme has been designed to be as flexible as possible so that students can reduce the number of subjects studied each year, thereby extending the overall length of the programme to three years.
The programme is particularly suitable for students in industrial employment who wish to accumulate the necessary credits while working.
