Course description
Content details
Person-Centred Art Therapy Skills was originated by Liesl Silverstone (BACP) Fellow. The course integrates Carl Rogers' person-centred approach with the therapeutic use of art images. The skills learned are then transferred to work settings. The programme covers the three main areas: theory, personal development and application, and is open to anyone who works with interpersonal skills eg in educational, community, medical or therapeutic settings. Art training is not required. Some background in counselling is beneficial.
How is the course taught
The course is highly participatory - you will be involved in small group work practising the art therapy skills through using imaging skills - giving and receiving feedback. You do not need to be good at Art!
Assessment
The focus is on experiential learning - you will keep a journal to cover personal development, theory and application at work.
