Entry requirements
Entry requirements Standard university entry requirements apply 80 UCAS points. This can come from: at least 1 A-level/Advanced GCE (preferably at grade C for media or film studies); Merit profile for BTEC National in media; relevant Access course; or equivalent qualifications. Plus passes at GCSE, including English. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate an active interest in media and especially media production Mature students and non-standard applications welcome

Course description
Students will develop media production skills across a broad range of methodologies, taught through tutorials, practical projects, seminars and group work. The programme aims to prepare students for a professional career within the media industry and give them the skills to make an immediate contribution. The programme aims to develop skills and personal qualities essential for student success while also developing the critical and analytical powers of the student.
The programme is suitable for students who want to participate in an exciting and challenging range of media production related activities with a group that offers a diverse range of backgrounds and interests. Students should enjoy working as part of a team and engaging in debate on issues relevant to modern media practices. The programme is designed for students who intend to pursue careers in the media industry or continue with their studies to degree level. The staff team offers a wide base of knowledge, including industry practitioners and guest lecturers. Students should have the desire to produce their own media products and build their own visual portfolio of creative work.
Visits to industry events will be arranged and excellent enrichment opportunities are on offer, such as the Venice International Film Festival and a visit to the BBC Millbank studios.
