  This interdisciplinary MSc provides a unique opportunity to study the culture of the Renaissance, its aftermath and its links to the Enlightenment with a team of scholars working across the humanities, including English and European Literature, History and History of Art.
  
  Learning Outcomes
  
  Students will develop:
  
      * an interdisciplinary understanding of the key changes in European cultural life between the Renaissance and the Enlightenment;
      * familiarity with the variety of materials that can be used to explore this cultural life and the changes it underwent;
      * a critical understanding of some of the principal ways in which these changes have been conceptualised and their significance articulated by scholars, past and present;
      * a grasp of the methodological issues and problems of cultural history, equipping students with experience of creating original academic work to underpin further interdisciplinary research at PhD level.
  
  How You Will Be Taught
  
  The first two semesters are based around small-group teaching and a combination of lectures, seminars and tutorials. From April to September, students are engaged full-time researching and writing their dissertations.
