Course description
Digital Creativity has become paramount in our society. It is prevalent and influences all aspects of our life and all types of design including industrial, interior, product and graphical. It impacts upon all industrial and society sectors including aerospace, construction, energy, environment, fashion, manufacturing, transportation, and all types of disciplines from bio and human health to civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. The digital medium is growing in popularity and affect, but so too is the influence and impact of creativity. Creativity defines our future world and is a distinguisher in wealth creation and sustainability.
The course provides fundamental knowledge and understanding of key features of creativity within a digital medium. On completion, graduates will be equipped with state-of-the-art concepts, techniques, skills and knowledge to utilize, develop and apply new digital technologies to create digital concepts, environments or worlds; enabling them to make significant contributions to wealth generation in any sector. The course structure and content are based on the digital society needs of the 21st century creative organizations.
It has a balance between understanding the creative process and techniques with the digital methods and approaches to support and realize that process. Core elements of the course combine focus on the digital medium for supporting creativity. Optional classes allow students to customize the course to suit their own particular career aspirations. Throughout the course, there is an emphasis on integration, enhanced by group assignments, team projects, and industrial visits.
The course is aimed at developing high calibre masters graduates with the skills and knowledge to utilise new digital technologies in the creative process. The course would appeal to a wide range of disciplines including architecture, arts, computer science, design, media and engineering. Graduates may expect careers in a wide variety of sectors and disciplines including advertising, animation, architectural design, computer graphics, design, film, industrial design, marketing, media, multi-media development, virtual reality, and web development among others.
