Course description
With more than 25 years of teaching by distance learning, we developed the course with the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) and their Centre for Statistical Education.
You gain the skills needed to become a competent teacher of statistics with a strong background in statistical methods. You also improve your understanding of the ideas, theories and practice of statistical investigation and statistical education.
We support your study through Blackboard, our virtual learning environment, weekend study schools and telephone tutorials.
We expect you to attend one weekend study school in Sheffield for each stage of the course, and for two examinations. However, you may be able to arrange to take your examinations locally.
Distance learning is ideal if you wish to combine work and study. Many previous students have found sponsorship for this degree.
