  • Objectives
    This programme will allow you to acquire the quantitative, analytical and computational tools required to understand, solve, estimate and develop dynamic models in macroeconomics. You will achieve this through a highly focused syllabus and through extensive use of problem sets. You will be well prepared to make the transition from taught courses to our technically orientated PhD in Macroeconomics, should you wish to do so.
  • Entry requirements
    Entry requirements UK applicants will be expected to have at least an upper second-class Honours degree in economics or a joint degree containing a significant amount of economics and mathematics. Applicants from other countries should have a comparable degree comprising a minimum of three years' study.

    You will take four compulsory taught courses in semesters 1 and 2 and undertake a modelling project during the summer months. The compulsory courses are:

    •    Quantitative methods
    •    Microeconomics for macroeconomists
    •    Basic theory and practice of econometrics
    •    Dynamic macroeconomics.
