Course description
COURSE CONTENT
Students are immersed in the principles and practices of international tourism management, seeing its effects at grass-roots level in the surrounding Scarborough area – the UK’s first seaside resort. This setting offers a wealth of real-life case studies to support learning and assessment work, particularly as the town is currently undergoing a £120 million regeneration project. Further exposure to tourism management in a realworld context is delivered through a varied programme of regional and international visits and opportunities to engage with tourism practitioners and policy makers. The programme aims to equip students with the advanced understanding, knowledge and skills essential to successful careers in management roles in the expanding local and international tourism industry. It reflects and draws upon current research within the Business School and adopts strategic and applied multidisciplinary approaches that transfer to a variety of international contexts.
