Entry requirements
Entry Conditions Applicants must normally (a)have gained (i) a second class honours degree or better from a university of the United Kingdom or the Repubilic of Ireland, from the Council for National Academic Awards, the National Council for Educational Awards, the Higher Education and Training Awards Council or from an institution of another country which is recognised as being of an equivalent standard; an equivalent standard (normally 50%) in a Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate, Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma or an approved professional or other qualification; or an equivalent standard in a preliminary examination and a professional or other qualification recognised by the Senate for this purpose. (b) provide evidence of competency in written and spoken English (GCSE grade C or equivalent. Overseas students must provide evidence of English competence to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550); or provide evidence of their ability to undertake the programme through the accreditation of prior experiential learning. Students with a non cognate degree and without appropriate industrial experience will be required to study Hotel and Tourism Operating Systems. Students' choice of modules will be guided by the Course Director, dependent on their academic background and industrial experience.

Course description
The Masters the MSc in International Hotel & Tourism Management is designed to provide a postgraduate programme with marked emphasis on the application of the theoretical content of operational and strategic management in the hotel and tourist services industry. In equipping students to successfully fulfil the ever increasing complexities of the management functions within the hotel and tourist services industry, the programme is designed to provide a vocationally relevant and academically challenging programme for graduates from cognate degrees in hotel, hospitality, event, licensed retail and tourist services management. While prior work experience or qualification in a related area is beneficial it is not a requirement as we have incorporated modules appropriate for those students from non cognate areas.
Teaching and learning is student focussed and includes lectures, seminars, case studies and tutorials.
