    Programme

    Concern over the environmental sustainability of human activities is becoming an increasingly important influence on international policy and the behaviour of public agencies and private companies. This programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge to work effectively in organisations seeking to promote sustainable development and improve environmental performance. The programme is strongly interdisciplinary, providing the opportunity to integrate scientific, socio-economic and policy perspectives to gain a broad understanding of sustainability and how it can be achieved.

    Learning Outcomes

    Students will be equipped to:

        * assess the sustainability of policies, programmes and projects at scales ranging from the local to the global;
        * analyse environmental problems using knowledge from different disciplines, leading to well-founded and effective solutions;
        * advocate sustainable development and engage in informed debate on current environmental controversies.
