MEng Civil Engineering provides a broad, well-balanced preparation for professional careers in the Built Environment sector (including design, construction, local authority and specialist work) as well as other areas such as project management and finance. We aim to instil not just an in-depth knowledge of engineering science but also a solid base of practical skills, an understanding of design, comprehension of the commercial world and a high level of competence in transferable skills (problem solving, team working, creativity, communications and IT).
These degree programmes provide the academic basis for a professional career in the planning, design, construction and management of major projects. They also lead to many other opportunities and graduates are in demand from all sectors of industry, commerce and public service. The skills learnt give you the ability to analyse and solve complex problems by a rigorous approach and communicate the results effectively.

Course fees: Tuition fees for Home/EU students commencing their studies in 2009 will be approximately £3250 per year. These fees will be subject to change in the light of government announcements to all universities.
