The Master of Business Studies (MBS) is particularly aimed at non-business graduates. We aim rapidly to give you a deep knowledge of business. The MBS can give you a vital edge in gaining a managerial position in the industry of your first degree - whatever your original subject.
The MBS is also suitable for business graduates who would like to take the next step in terms of advanced insights into the world of business and management. You'll find that the programme enhances your effectiveness in a management role.
You will develop competencies in all areas of business, from managing people to strategic direction. The programme explores the full range of functions that contribute to business decision-making, and brings you up to date with contemporary business developments.
You'll be exposed to the latest business practices. You will have opportunities to meet managers and find out how successful organisations really function through a comprehensive programme of visiting speakers for example, we will be welcoming speakers from BAA and HSBC to add real world examples to business theory. We'll also take you on company visits to learn first-hand from leading organisations such as Nike, Ikea and Nissan.

Our libraries provide computers, printing, photocopying, and inter-library loans. Sunderland also has an extensive electronic library collection, which means you can access much of the information you need online.
You will also benefit from access to 500 computer workstations of the David Goldman Informatics Centre which offers the latest software packages - open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
