Comments about Master of European Business MEB - At the institution - London - Greater London

  • Entry requirements
Students are selected during Part 3 subject to meeting the entry criteria outlined in the ‘typical offers’ above. Each applicant will be interviewed in order to assess their suitability for study abroad and acting as a Cass ambassador.
  • Academic title
    Master of European Business MEB
  • Course description
The Master of European Business is an opportunity for students completing any of the Cass undergraduate degrees to study for an additional year to gain a postgraduate business degree. In addition to English, you must have fluency in French, German, Italian or Spanish, and achieve a working knowledge of a third language.

You will spend one term studying at Cass, developing the specialist knowledge and skills offered by the Cass specialist master’s programme. You will also spend a term at one of our European partner institutions. The course therefore equips you with in-depth knowledge of management, business or finance in a European context and the experience of another educational system and culture. It also offers you the opportunity to develop your language skills. All of these factors are highly valued by employers.

    Course content

The course commences with a compulsory first term of study at one of our European partner institutions: Complutense University, Madrid; ESCP-EAP, Paris; Luiss, Rome; TU Berlin; Solvay Business School, ULB, Brussels; University of Vienna. All of these are top-rated European universities with a particular strength in business, management and finance.

During the second term, you will have the flexibility to extend your study at the partner institution, organise a work placement in the same or another European country, or start research on your MSc dissertation.

During the third term, you will be able to choose modules from a selection offered by the Cass MSc programmes, a portfolio of 24 degrees covering a wide spectrum of specialist subject areas in management, finance, investment, banking, shipping, trade, logistics, energy, property, insurance, entrepreneurship and charity. These courses are highly valued by employers and for a number of years, London’s Fortune 1000 companies have looked to Cass to provide them with the educated workforce they need, particularly in the financial services industries.

Following this you will complete and submit your dissertation, by the first week of September.

The MEB acts as a fourth-year extension of the Cass BSc degrees and your graduation for your BSc will therefore be deferred until you have completed your MEB. You will be awarded both degrees at the same graduation ceremony.

A key advantage of this structure is that tuition fees are set at the undergraduate level, allowing you to gain a postgraduate qualification without incurring the usual costs – fees for the specialist master’s courses at Cass vary from £12,500 to £17,5

    Teaching and assessment

Core to our teaching philosophy are participatory lectures and seminars. A key feature of the courses within the Cass Specialist Master’s Programme is that they set the theory of finance, management and the specialist discipline in a wider practical perspective. They achieve this through the use of case studies, state-of-the-art technology, and lecturers who are experienced, respected industry practitioners.
