Objectives
This unique course is run in conjunction with ESCEM Poitiers, School of Business and Management, one of the Ecole Superieur business schools in France. The course involves studying in both the UK and in Poitiers, and successful completion will give you two Masters degrees - one from London Metropolitan University and also one from ESCEM Poitiers. This unique dual award gives you an increased chance of professional employment in today's global tourism and hospitality industries, wherever you wish to work.
Taught in English in both France and the UK. This programme gives you the chance to study strategic management in the tourism industries in an international context, from two different perspectives. France is one of the key tourism destinations for travellers in Europe and beyond. The excellence of its management of hospitality resources such as gastronomy, viticulture, hotels and lodgings of every type, is renowned throughout the world. The UK's tourism industries are also highly developed; they are based around a thriving tourist attractions sector, with many of the leading attractions located in London, and upon a sophisticated tourism retail, operating and carrier infrastructure. The course aims to provide you with the skills to research and evaluate all aspects of these industries from an international perspective, thoroughly grounded in an understanding of services management. Also making the course distinct among other postgraduate courses of this nature is the three-month tourism placement, which can be carried out in either London or Poitiers, giving you a valuable opportunity to gain work experience that also counts as part of your postgraduate degree.
