Entry requirements
Good UK Honours Degree (minimum of a lower second class) or an overseas degree recognised by Aston University, plus two references. International students whose native language is not English and have not completed a full degree programme taught in English, will also need a TOEFL score of 600 (paper based) or 250 (computer based) with a TWE of 4.5 equivalent to 100 (internet-based) with a minimum score of 23 in writing and speaking and 20 in reading and listening OR an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in reading and listening. Pre-sessional English language programmes are available for good applicants whose English qualification falls just short of these requirements.

Course description
The MSc in International Business is suitable for graduates of all disciplines seeking to gain a general business Masters with a strong international perspective to complement their Bachelors degree.
Outline of programme
The MSc in International Business concentrates on the links between the major business functions and their role in international business and commerce. Students will develop an appreciation of the special requirements for successfully conducting international business activities across national boundaries, develop knowledge and understanding of theories and be able to apply them to real life case studies.
The programme consists of 10 taught modules, six of which are compulsory:
Foundation & Integrating Modules
* Accounting for Non Financial Managers
* Economic Environment of Business
* Strategic Management.
Specialist Modules
* European & International Business Strategy
* International Business
* International Business Strategy.
Elective Modules
Students choose four elective modules from a range of different subjects. A full listing of electives and complete outlines for all modules are available online.
Assessment
The 10 taught modules are assessed through a mixture of examinations and coursework (details of the assessment criteria for each module is given in its module outline). The taught element of the course is complemented by a substantial piece of research leading to the completion of a dissertation in a student’s particular area of interest.
