The Accounting and Financial Management MSc is a new and exciting development at Coventry University Business School. The programme is designed as an advanced programme for students who have already obtained a first degree (or equivalent) in accounting and finance.
The Accounting and Financial Management MSc has been specifically designed to meet the growing demand from industry for rigorous and well-trained researchers and practitioners. Course content
The modules covered in the programme have been carefully developed so that the following three main streams are covered:
* Internal accounting and financial management environment.
* External financial market environment.
* Inter-linkages between internal and external accounting and financial management environments.
In addition to training on functional accounting and finance topics, the Accounting and Financial Management MSc programme also develops students’ quantitative and research skills, through undertaking either a traditional dissertation or, if approved, a company internship module in their final semester.
Teaching, learning and assessment
Teaching and learning are in the forms of formal lectures, discussions and directed readings with the exception of research methods and dissertation. All modules are formally assessed by both coursework and examination.
The research methods module is assessed by a written project proposal and the dissertation module is assessed by an about 15,000 words dissertation.
