Course description
This course is designed to provide you with the opportunity to explore and develop the creative possibilities of designing with digital media. Course content includes visual language, interactivity and reactivity, animation and a research module. An additional major project module completes the MA degree.
Future prospects
The course has an excellent record in preparing students for employment soon after graduation. Recent graduates are working in new media, digital video, visual communication, digital imaging, multimedia production, animation, web design, teaching and research. Students enrolled for the Design and Digital Media MA will have the option of changing to the Media Arts MA, and vice versa, at the Postgraduate Certificate stage of the course.
Course content
The course may be taken either full-time over 12 months or part-time over 24 months. In its part-time mode with one day spent in study at the University each week the course is particularly suited to working designers, teachers and other professionals who wish to update their knowledge of new technologies. It will also help you to extend your skills in fields that utilise new media design, multimedia design for specific audiences and purposes, visual communication and publishing/exhibiting.
