Course description
Course modules
The pattern of study is to take the first semester in Leicester and the second semester modules in one of the partner institutions (Berlin, Stockholm, Dublin or Darmstadt). Dissertation preparation can be undertaken either in Leicester or one of the European cities.

Teaching and assessment methods
Teaching is mainly by seminars with 5-10 students. There are also visits to local and national archives, trips to sites of historical relevance to each course; specialist day workshops and a series of guest seminars from distinguished visiting urban historians. Online tutorials, datasets and web resources have been developed to assist students in their project work and dissertations. Assessment is by essays, assignments and projects, and an open book exam for option modules
