Objectives
This new and exciting MA course at Nottingham Trent University is primarily concerned with the role of the media in the globalization process. The course is designed to deliver a highly advanced and sophisticated level of understanding of the many facets of today’s communication media, including broadcasting and information communication technology. The objective of the course is to develop students’ ability to conduct critical analyses of media processes. This will enable them to seek employment in a wide-range of media-related positions, especially at the level of management and policy-making. The course is located within the Institute for Cultural Analysis, which boasts outstanding state-of-the art facilities, and is the hub of research in media, culture and communication at Nottingham Trent University.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements Normally either a good degree in a relevant Humanities or Social Sciences subject or a good degree in any subject plus relevant experience. For applicants whose first language is not English, English should have been studied to a high level e.g. an IELTS profile of 6. Specialist courses in English Language are also available in the university's new Language Teaching facilities.

Course description
The course consists of modules in Media Analysis, Media Industries, Globalization, Research Methods and a wide range of options.
In addition, students whose first language is not English can take a module specifically designed to enhance their language skills (English for Academic Purposes).
