MA/Diploma Drama
Course description
We offer a range of postgraduate courses in Drama and Performance. They all have a number of attributes in common:
* they offer one to one teaching and supervision by established dramatists and performers
* they offer you the opportunity to develop your own specific interests, working in the genre and style of your choice
* they offer you the flexibility to study on a full or part-time basis
* they offer you the opportunity to develop an awareness of your own practice through combining creative and critical work.
The MA involves four Open Essays on topics of your choice (in consultation with a supervisor). The MA dissertation gives you the opportunity to complete an extensive piece of critical work relating to drama/performance or to pursue a practice-led, creative project.
The environment in Bangor couldn’t be better for studying drama and performance, situated as it is between the mountains and the sea. As well as the physical surroundings, and the creative staff available, the Institute also offers the newly revamped (2007) NIECI/JP Hall creative complex, featuring digital performance spaces and facilities for cross-disciplinary work.
