    You will choose this degree if you

        * want to complete a specialised degree in telecommunications
        * are a graduate of a related discipline who wants to begin a career in telecommunications or other communication applications
        * want a good graduate experience in preparation for a career in the global telecommunications or electronics industries.

    You will complete six taught modules. There are five compulsory modules

        * Computer Communications 1
        * Computer Communications 2
        * Digital Signal Processing 1
        * Optical Communications
        * Digital Communications {new for Sept 2008, subject to approval}

    and a further modules is selected from the following list

        * Microwave and Millimetre Wave Circuit Design
        *
        * Micro- and Nano- Technology

    In addition to taught work, you will also complete practical assignments and a small research project in one of the state-of-the-art laboratories in the Department, or with our partners in the U.K. electronics industry.

    Typically, you will complete three modules in each semester. The independent project is mainly undertaken during the summer at the end of the academic year, although students are encouraged to begin work and planning during the teaching period.
