Objectives
This course provides you with the core subjects required by the professional legal bodies and is consequently a qualifying law degree. The relevant professional bodies will grant exemptions for those who wish to become solicitors or barristers. The programme will assist you in finding suitable commercial work experience either with a law firm or with a corporate legal department, providing you with first hand experience of private practice or the services provided by an in-house legal team. The course combines legal study with legal skills taught using a variety of teaching methods. You will be expected to develop your skills in relation to written and oral communication, team and individual working, independent learning, research, argument construction and analysis, using these skills within a commercial law environment. You will attend lectures for the core subjects with LLB Honours Law students. Wherever possible, you will be taught in LLB Honours Commercial Law groups for tutorials and for the Commercial Foundations subjects.
