Objectives
Suitable for practising managers in the defence environment with experience of people management who wish to develop their career in human resource management in an international context, and for existing HR professionals who wish to take on international roles. Takes you on to a successful career in international HR management in a defence context. Through its rigorous theory and leading-edge applications, the programme prepares you to advance the practice of international people management. You will be taught by Cranfield University academic staff at the Defence Academy - College of Management and Technology and Cranfield School of Management who understand the challenges of translating theory into practice.

Entry requirements
Normally a 1st or 2nd class Honours degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent. Alternatively, a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development with five years' work experience, or an alternative professional qualification and seven years' work experience. Students whose first language is not English must attain an IELTS score of 6.5.

Course description
The course has been designed to develop students' understanding of human resource management issues at an international level in the defence context. It will help students acquire the appropriate skills and knowledge to practice international people management.
In addition to enhancing students' specialist knowledge in the field of human resource management, a number of the modules will deal specifically with the human resource issues raised by the defence context.
Through the completion of an individual thesis, students will develop skills which will enable them to conduct research projects in a valid and reflective manner.

Research Project
The individual thesis is an important component of the MSc. It allows participants to select an International Human Resource Management topic of interest for in-depth investigation. Normally, the topic will be chosen in conjunction with their sponsoring organisation and approved by their nominated supervisor. The research methods course is designed to support the thesis by helping students develop the necessary skills.

Flexible learning: minimum 2 years
Assessment
The course will be assessed by means of examination, coursework and an individual thesis.
