The Graduate School for the Social Sciences seeks to build on the support provided by individual Schools and Departments to postgraduate research students by:

Championing the cause of graduate education within the University;
Encouraging inter- and multi-disciplinary collaboration between staff and students and between students themselves;
Seeking and disseminating information on support and resources (internal and external) for students and supervisors;
Developing a range of accessible generic courses and events;
Pooling and making more efficient use of expertise and resources.
