• Objectives
  To provide a substantial grounding in modern British and European history, with further opportunities to study non-European history To nurture the development of open, creative and critical thinkers, who are able to apply these qualities of mind in a variety of intellectual contexts To encourage an appreciation of the nature of historical enquiry, and of the links between history and other disciplines To provide a structure and an environment in which skills relevant to citizenship, work in the wider world, and lifelong learning may be developed

• Course description
  Students study history at the Greenwich World Heritage Site, itself a living legacy of British scientific, maritime and imperial history, as well as a thriving multicultural centre of present-day Britain. Various aspects of early modern and modern British, European, American and world history are covered in this programme. One particular feature is that students have the opportunity to develop practical skills during the final year in one of the many archives, museums, galleries and libraries in the locality.
