Content details
This course covers all aspects of working in health and social care, including lifespan development, cultural diversity, and communication skills among others. Students will study key skills in IT, numeracy and communication. You will be given the opportunity to complete work experience of a minimum of 60 hours in a health or social care setting. Practical activities undertaken in this setting link theory to practice.
How is the course taught
You will have a mixture of group activities, discussions some lectures and practical activities. You will complete a minimum of 60 hours work experience placement
Assessment
You are assessed through a mixture of assignments and portfolio tasks, with a multiple choice test. You must achieve a Pass for your work experience from you placement supervisor.
Course leads to
A social work or other related degree course. You could gain employment in a range of careers e.g. within the caring professions, education, health and social care.
