The Access to HE Diploma is a credit based qualification which prepares you to study at a University of your choice in the UK. This new programme gives students the opportunity to develop skills required to enter university. The purpose of the Access to HE Diploma is to equip you with independent learning strategies so that you will be successful in their Higher Education studies and progress to your chosen specialist Pathway in Health Care. Successful completion of the programme is dependent on your achieving 60 credits, (45 at level 3 and 15 level 2/3)
How is the course taught
The teaching and learning methods is intended to familiarise you with different teaching styles and assessment methods employed in Higher Education. You will participate in interactive lectures as well as seminars or group discussions. You may find that you engage in role-play or simulations, and that your class conducts experiments or makes off-site visits.
Assessment
You will have assignments to complete, perhaps case studies to observe, you will take some exams! In addition you will carry out a small piece of research and write up a report. You will also be asked to compile a Portfolio of Evidence, which will require keeping a personal Reflective Journal.
