Entry requirements Standard university entry requirements apply Merit profile at BTEC or equivalent in graphic design or other relevant subject. Alternatively, an Access course in an appropriate subject. All applications are subject to interview. Equivalent qualifications and/or work experience for mature candidates will be considered

Course description
This programme is designed for students who enjoy working as part of a team and engaging in debate on issues relevant to graphic design and advertising. They will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting and challenging range of design and advertising projects. Students must be willing to arrange their own suitable work placement during term 1 in Year 2 for 1-3 days per week.
The programme aims to produce students who are capable of working in graphic design or advertising fields and specialising in a range of technologies and studio practices. They will gain a broad range of knowledge in new technology and studio design skills relating to contemporary graphic design and will have the benefit of the experience of a range of teaching staff and visiting lecturers with industry skills and experience.

Career options
Employment as a professional practicing graphic designer, working in a range of sectors and industries, such as design, media and teaching. The majority of people working in the graphic design fields are self-employed and this programme aims to prepare students for the business environment.
Students could also progress to a top-up degree to obtain a Bachelor’s qualification
