Course description
Advance your film editing skills.
Through a series of workshops and projects you will acquire an appreciation of the importance of editing. You will gain a working knowledge and understanding of the common practices, language andterminology of Non-Linear editing principles.
During the 10 week course you will cover a variety of editing principles, including: an introduction to footage capture and file transfer, file storage for editing, basic editing principals, editing to music, transitions, cutting styles, continuity editing parameters, editing drama conversation, DVD burning, creating and importing titles & credits.
You will gain the necessary skills of control in which to access specific frames, using a cut-and-paste method, similar to the ease of cutting and pasting text in a word processor, this will allow you to easily include fades, transitions, and other effects that cannot be achieved with linear editing.
You will have the opportunity to work on both Final Cut Pro and AdobePremier editing software packages.
