Objectives
This two-year course has an industry-facing approach to design education. It has been created in collaboration with design consultancies who regularly review student work and curriculum content through an Industry Liaison Panel. The curriculum is highly structured and focuses on the development of industry standard skills and methodologies. The course prepares you for a career within contemporary design, with a focus on branding, marketing, advertising and design for communication.

FdA Design Practice
Programme
Year 1
You will develop an understanding of working processes related to the development of design strategies for print, 3d, sequential and interactive media. You will also take part in a work-based learning unit, which involves detailed research into current working practice through contact with industry partners
Year 2
In the final stage of this course you will complete a four to six week work placement and embark on a 10 week individual programme of study, devised in consultation with your tutors. You will build a portfolio of work aimed at an appropriate area of employment or, if you wish to continue your studies, you can complete a bridging programme that allows progression on to the third year of the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course at Camberwell.
