Year 2
- Presenting Business Information
- Recruitment and Selection
- Employer and Employee Relations
- Sports Nutrition
- Sports Coaching
- Sports and Exercise Massage
Additional courses you will do as part of this course include:
- YMCA accredited Gym Instructing Course Level 2
- Communications
- Community Sports Leadership Award
- IT Support
All students are also expected to do work experience in the first year and a compulsory residential in the second year.
We believe that it is important to support you so that you can pursue your future in Sport and Business. The course will include help for you to improve and develop your communication skills. You will receive both group and individual tutorial support to keep you on track and, if needed, additional learning support.
Additional Offer from Westminster Sports Unit:
Two apprenticeship schemes per year for two students
Guaranteed work placement, possibly leading to employment in the Borough of Westminster for two students
What do I need to get on to it?
One of the following: BTEC First Diploma at Merit, NVQ Level 2 or 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above.
Where does it lead?
Students that successfully complete the course could EITHER enter the Sports Industry e.g. Leisure Centre, Sports Club, Sports Development, Coach or Trainer OR progress to University to study Sports Management, Leisure Management, Sports Coaching, Sports Studies or chose from a range of combined Sports-related degrees.
