What is this course about?
The Creative and Media Diploma is a new and exciting qualification. It is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career.
What will I study?
The Diploma is different in the mix of educational experience it offers. As well as classroom teaching there is time spent away from school or college. Diploma students will complete a minimum of ten days work experience.
There will also be opportunities to hear inspirational talks by people who are success stories in the creative and media world and for individual mentoring, as well as many visits to creative and media organisations, so that students make the most of the opportunities.
Young people studying the Diploma in Creative and Media will learn how to think, question, explore, create and communicate. Students will master the processes common to all creative industries.
The Creative and Media Diploma introduces students to a huge range of disciplines, including Graphic Design, Advertising, Film and Television, Radio, Interactive Media, Animation, Photo Imaging and Creative Writing to name but a few. What can I do after the course?
You may progress onto an advanced Creative and Media Diploma, or one of the specialised Media BTEC National Diplomas in digital media production or interactive media at City and Islington College
