Course description
Duration of course:
Following successful completion of the first year of study (2 AS Levels) students can progress onto the second year of the programme (2 A2 Levels).
NB. Day-time programmes of study are available on a full-time basis, or part-time for those in receipt of DSS benefits and needing to satisfy the conditions of availability for work.

In the first year you will study the following units:
-Human growth and development
-Communication and values in care
-Positive care environments
-Social aspects of Health and Social Care
-Activities for health and well being
-Public Health
-Work experience
What do I need to get onto it?
This course is suitable for 16-19 year olds who have the following:
4 or 5 passes at A – C GCSE including English
GNVQ Intermediate Health and Social Care (Merit) with Key Skill Communication at Level 2
Applicants without the minimum entry requirements may be accepted onto the course if they can show that their previous studies and experience are suitable. All applicants will be expected to have written and oral English language ability appropriate to the standard of the course and complete a successful interview.
Where does it lead?
You could use your qualification to go on to Higher Education in either Health or Social Care, or it could open doors to employment.
