The course prepares you to work with children and their families in a variety of settings; such as nurseries, crèches and preschools and play groups.
The course is arranged and taught in three stages, Award, Certificate and Diploma. This means that should you have to take a break in your studies you could leave with either the award or certificate thereby making a return to study at a later date easier. However, the aim is that most people will progress to the complete Diploma and so be able to work as an Early Years’ Practitioner.
You will be assessed through a range of methods:
- Introductory task
- Multiple choice question paper
- Externally set assignments for 4 units that are marked internally
- Externally set and marked short answer paper
- Portfolio
- Practice Evidence Records and Professional Development Profiles
