The BTEC First Diploma for ICT Practitioners is a full time course that can be your first step towards a career in computing and system support.
What does the course lead to?
The BTEC qualification is recognised by colleges and employers in the UK. A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to 4 GCSEs. BTEC qualifications are seen by employers as very practical qualifications that give you the skills needed for employment. If you want to go on to further study you can progress to a level 3 course such as a BTEC National, and from the BTEC National to a university degree course.
What does the course involve?
The BTEC qualification is made up of 6 units through which over three terms of study you will learn about computer systems and how they work, how to upgrade and repair PCs, use of business software, network systems, creating web sites, and how to provide support to computer users.
