What is this course about?
The Creative and Media Diploma is a new and exciting qualification. It is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career
What will I study?
This specialised advanced diploma will enhance your skills and knowledge in the creative and media industries. The Diploma is different in the mix of educational experience it offers. As well as classroom teaching there is time spent away from school or college. Diploma students will complete a minimum of ten days work experience.
There will also be opportunities to hear inspirational talks by people who are success stories in the creative and media world and for individual mentoring, as well as many visits to creative and media organisations, so that students make the most of the opportunities.
Young people studying the Diploma in Creative and Media will learn how to think, question, explore, create and communicate. Students will master the processes common to all creative industries. The Creative and Media Diploma introduces students to a huge range of disciplines, including Graphic Design, Advertising, Film and Television, Radio, Interactive Media, Animation, Photo Imaging and Creative Writing
What qualification will I get?
The Advanced Creative and Media Diploma, and an Associated Specialist Learning qualification. The Advanced Creative and Media Diploma is equivalent to three and a half A levels.
What can I do after the course?
On completion, you could work in many of the creative industry / media areas. If you do decide to go on to university or college, you can progress on to an Honours Degree or Foundation Degree in Digital Media. The Advanced Creative and Media Diploma is valued by employers and higher education
