Course description
Complementary therapies have become increasingly popular over the past decade, and are becoming recognised as constituting a field of health care in their own right. This programme offers students the opportunity to gain an overall understanding of the role of complementary therapies within the health care system and is focused on clinical application. It aims to produce practitioners trained to the highest academic and clinical level.
The programme offers three routes: general, aromatherapy or stress management. The first year is common to all, and provides an overview of the knowledge and skills health care professionals require to underpin their advanced studies.
Programme content from year 2 will vary depending on the route and options chosen. There is the unique opportunity to undertake 120 hours supervised clinical practice in a variety of National Health Service settings.
