This course can be combined with BTEC Essential Fashion Skills - Level 2

What does the course involve?
This is a one year course at level 1, designed to introduce students to the working practices for the production of Working Patterns, Full Production Patterns and Time Efficiency Practice criteria required for today’s competitive market place.
You will be taught how to:-
* Organise effectively
* Take accurate measurements and construct all basic blocks
* Translate drawings into competent patterns
* Produce working patterns
* Produce pattern adaptions from blocks
* Produce full production patterns
* Relate fabrics to style and planning lays
* A range of sewing techniques needed to toile
* Make your first sample
Course duration and hours
The course runs on Mondays 14.00 to 17.00 for 30 weeks
How much should I study outside class?
Approximately 4 hours per week.
How is the course assessed?
Assessment is continuous and mock tests are conducted throughout the course.
