Objectives
These courses are designed to produce graduates who have a broad knowledge of physics, with particular skills in both astrophysics and theoretical physics. The content is derived from the Physics with Theoretical Physics degrees but you will also take all the astronomy modules from the Physics with stronomy course. To fit these additional components into the course, there is reduced laboratory content.

BSc Physics with Theoretical Astrophysics
Programme
Years one and two
You combine the modules that make up the Physics with Theoretical Physics BSc (F344) and MSci (F340) and the Physics with Astronomy BSc (F3F5) and MSci (F3FM).
To fit both sets of modules in, you undertake a dramatically reduced practical component, and have fewer options to choose. The MSci programme is the same as the BSc in the first two years - this gives you maximum flexibility by allowing you to choose quite late on whether you wish to pursue the three or four-year programme.
Year three
In the BSc final year, you will be able to apply the wide range of skills that you have learned to a theoretical astrophysics project. For the MSci, you also take the specialised modules that prepare you for the innovative way in which the final year in our MSci degree is taught.
