Music Informatics is a new programme unique to the University of Westminster offering a practical and theoretical understanding of the audio industry. The recent developments in music, audio production and their related industries have created a whole new market for digital music composition, computer sequencing and audio programming skills. Furthermore, audio is playing an increasingly significant role in the world of online development, interface design and user experience, whilst maintaining its significant traditional role in visual entertainments, such as gaming and film. Consequently, it is becoming increasingly clear that 'music informatics' is now an integral part of computing development, both academically and professionally, as sound is such a vital component off all multimedia applications in the 21st Century.
