BSc Medical Physiology
Programme
First Year
Modules in Biochemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Cell and Tissue Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry and Key Skills from the first year of the Medical and Biological Sciences curriculum.
Second Year
Six modules from a large number offered by departments within the Faculty of Medicine and Biological Sciences, including two compulsory Physiology/Pharmacology modules, a disease-based module, a compulsory key skills module and a choice of two other modules from within the disciplines of Biochemistry, Genetics, Animal Sciences and Microbiology.
Final Year
Students take a total of four modules which includes Understanding Disease (compulsory), and at least two of: Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Cellular Physiology of the Cardiovascular System, and Brain and Behaviour. One non-physiology module may be taken from the large range of modules offered within the Biological Sciences degree programme. A compulsory final year project is also taken.
