Objectives
We are a community of scholars dedicated to the development of critical management studies, conducting and disseminating internationally recognised research and scholarship that increases understanding and knowledge of the role of management and organisation in the contemporary world. Our research informs our teaching, and we endeavour to provide educational experiences that are revelatory and inspirational for student and teacher alike and to give each programme member the wherewithal to develop their intellectual abilities to the full in a supportive, inclusive and diverse atmosphere.

Entry requirements
Entry Requirements * A/AS Levels: Three A levels are normally required. Two AS levels considered in place of one A level. General Studies accepted. Standard offer BBB. * GCSE: Mathematics and English Language at grade C. * Access to HE course: Pass, with at least the requisite credits at level 3. * European Baccalaureate: Pass with 70% overall. * International Baccalaureate: Pass Diploma with 30 points. * BTEC Nationals: Full Diploma with DDM, plus any subject / GCSE requirements. * Other Qualifications: Other national and international qualifications welcomed. * Mature students welcomed: Alternative qualifications considered. * Second Year Entry: Possible for those with advanced qualifications compatible with our degree structure. * Applicants are not normally interviewed. All applicants receiving an offer will be invited to visit the School of Management. * This degree is not available on a part-time basis..

Course description
BSc Mathematics with Management
Programme
First Year
The course modules are Proof and Number Systems; Methods of Applied Mathematics 1 – vectors, differential equations, multivariate calculus; Probability; Real Analysis; Linear Algebra; Information Systems; Foundations of Management; Introduction to Marketing.
The mathematics courses include training in the use of mathematical software – Maple, and Matlab.
Second Year
The course modules build upon those of the first year: there are further courses in Real Analysis, and Linear Algebra, as well as courses in Statistics that build upon the Probability of the first year. There is some choice of the management component including the popular Financial Management module, whilst all students are involved in a group project. Other mathematics modules are available as options.
Third Year
In mathematics you may choose from a range of modules including Operational Research, and Statistics, whilst in management there is a choice from such modules as Corporate Strategy and Decision Making; Operations Management; and Critical Analysis for Management. In addition you will also research and write a significant project applying mathematics in a business setting.
