Objectives
* This is a vocational programme aimed at those who are employed within a hospital physiological measurements department, specifically cardiology (ECG), gastrointestinal physiology (GI), neurophysiology and respiratory physiology * The programme is developed and delivered in close association with the relevant professional bodies: The Society for Cardiological Science and Technology (SCST), the Association of Gastrointestinal Physiologists (AGIP), The Electrophysiological Technologists Association (EPTA), The Association of Respiratory Technologists (ARTP) * The programme is accredited by the Registration Council for Clinical physiologists (RCCP).

Entry requirements
Entry requirements Applicants must be employed in a relevant physiological measurements or medical physics department, and have the following or equivalent: * Five GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, English and Dual Science award or equivalent Plus one of the following: * A minimum of 140 UCAS Tariff points (including at least two subjects, preferably at least one science subject at Advanced Level) * Advanced GNVQ certificate or BTEC National Diploma/Certificate (in relevant subject areas) equivalent to the above * An Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education in Science (12 units). Applications from mature applicants with alternative qualifications and relevant experience are welcomed. Accreditation for prior experiential learning will be considered. The award of Diploma of Higher Education (Dip HE) is available to students who opt to complete their studies after two years.

BSc Clinical Physiology
Programme
The programme has a common core of modules that cover the areas of Anatomy and Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Pharmacology, Communication Skills, Psychology and Research Methods. The programme structure allows students to follow a pathway specific to their own specialism. The specialist modules are of two types:
* Specialist theory modules
* Clinical practice modules related to work-based training.
The specialist theory and clinical practice modules allow the integration of the appropriate professional qualifications into the Clinical Physiology Degree. Specialist and clinical practice modules are offered in:
* Cardiology
* Gastrointestinal Physiology
* Neurophysiology
* Respiratory Physiology.
