  • Objectives
    This course examines many key topics in modern biology, from cell and molecular biology, anatomy and physiology of organisms to microbiology, genetics and ecology. Based around Biochemistry, Ecology, Microbiology and Physiology, this degree allows you to specialise in areas that interest you, or to take a more broad-based course. The wider social and ethical implications of advances in contemporary biological science are also addressed.
  • Entry requirements
    You should have GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent). You are expected to hold one of the following: at least 160 points from two or more A-levels, including biology and either chemistry or science; or at least 160 points from two A-levels (Applied subjects) in science; or a BTEC ND in Science with MMP and at least four merits in the final year, excluding common skills. Entry from appropriate Foundation/Access courses will also be considered.

    For Single Honours, you take eight modules at each of the three levels. Joint Honours involves four modules from each level in Biological Sciences, plus four from your other subject.
