Course description
Content
The first year will provide you with the fundamentals of engineering. All the modules are 'core' ie compulsory, and are common with the other aerospace and mechanical engineering degrees. This enables you to transfer between degrees if you wish, on successful completion of the first year.
In the second year you will start to specialise by studying subjects such as aeronautics, stress and dynamics. At the end of your second year you can choose to progress to the MEng, assuming your performance is satisfactory.
The individual project is an important part of the final year, enabling you to demonstrate your ability to work independently and allowing you to study in-depth a problem of your own choosing. The extra year for MEng students includes options for study at Master's Level and a much larger research project.
