Objectives
While preparing you for a career in the marketing and advertising industry, this undergraduate course also encourages you to profit from your creative thinking within a wider context. Each of the three years contains learning units which contribute towards the development of your own enterprise skills and the skills specific to the marketing and advertising industry. This three-year course is equally suited to the needs of School/College leavers, or to those already working within marketing who are changing career or looking to update themselves prior to re-entry. Successful completion will provide you with exemptions from the programmes leading to professional qualifications of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Entry requirements
Applicants with some, or all, of the following achievements will be considered for admission to the programme: * two or more 'A' Level passes with at least 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above * an Edexcel GNVQ at Advanced Level (or eqivalent) at Merit Level * Access Certificate recognised by the National Open College Network with at least 16 (48) Credits at Level 3 * have developed a successful career in a relevant area to a level that the team, through a process of Accreditation of Prior and Experiential Learning AP(E)L considers being the equivalent of academic achievement.

Programme
Year One provides the framework for the fundamentals of marketing in a contextual manner and enables you to identify the role of marketing and communication in a business enterprise.
Year Two the emphasis moves to the management processes of marketing and communication. Some time will be spent on simulated learning in order to experience the nature of management in practice.
Year Three stresses the value of strategic management with the key themes of innovation and enterprise strategy. The final project related to the marketing and communications sector, provides an opportunity for original research in an area of particular interest to you.
