More than ever in human history we are surrounded with images that sell us products, promote ourselves and make critical commentary. On this course you will consider the implications and your position within this world. You will expand your practical expertise creativity working through a wide range of processes/practices connecting your digital present with our analogue past, supported by a wide range of professional and contextual studies.
You will be studying in East London, on a new docklands site with easy access to London’s culture of photographers, galleries and photography labs, as well as the history of the old East End. You will be collaborating not only with an energetic and diverse staff and student body at UEL but with organisations such as the National Portraiture Gallery, Iniva, Canon, Train to Create and Tirade Magazine (the latter two both set up by our very own photography graduates).
The programme is affiliated to the Association of Photographers, the leading organisation representing professionals in the industry.
At the end of the three years, you’ll leave armed with the confidence and creative skills to make your mark in the broadening world of photography that is both local and global. You will be following in the steps of graduates who have been successful in establishing careers and studios, international magazine and collaborative partnerships as well as progressing to postgraduate studies.
Course Requirements:
FROM A LEVEL: Must include passes at A2 in at least two subjects.
FROM BTEC : Extended Diploma (QCF) or Diploma (QCF)
FROM INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE : Diploma with 25 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level.
We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and maths (See below for accepted equivalences)
