Objectives
In recent years crime has become an increasingly central focus of public concern and political debate. This degree gives you an environment in which to study crime and deviance and their social regulation and control. The course consists of core modules which provide you with methodological skills as well as the theoretical tools required to become a criminology practitioner. You can also choose from a range of specialist modules including the Criminology of Pleasure, Cybercrime and Gender and Crime. The course provides you with a knowledge of the institutions and apparatus which govern the field of crime which is useful for policing, probation work, victim support and many other careers.
Entry requirements
You should have at least 200 points, including two or more A-levels. English Language GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent) is also required. These requirements may be varied in individual cases.

Course structure
For Single Honours you take eight modules at each level. Joint Honours involves four modules from each level in Criminology, plus four from your other subject. You may also choose a Major/Minor after level 1.
